4 Color Production Flying at Kendallville

Courier Kendallville's reputation as one of the best customer service providers in the industry has been enhanced over the past few years by intensive investments in equipment and technology, particularly in the area of 4-color book manufacturing.

Kathy Englehart, Account Manager at Kendallville, said, "It's really gratifying when we can invest this kind of time, energy and money, and impact customer satisfaction to such a degree. The focus here has always been service, but now we're even more prepared - technologically geared- for quick turnaround and quality 4-color work."

In recent years, the plant has quickly and efficiently added case binding, two new 4-color presses, a new adhesive binder, and thermal computer-to-plate imaging. For the people involved in customer service at Kendallville, these consistent upgrades have enhanced their ability to do what they do best- service the customers fast, efficiently and better than anyone else. "Our customers depend on Courier to upgrade our capabilities as the market demands, and anticipate changes and react to them before anyone is caught off-guard," said Linda Franklin, Account Manager, "We intend to meet their expectations every time, as we always have."

WAM!NET, Courier and You

Courier recently penned an arrangement with WAM!NET, Inc., which will provide our customers one more way- the fastest way yet- to send files to us. The revolutionary WAM!NET digital network is one of the world's most robust high-bandwidth, high-speed data systems. It can transport files at incredible speeds. In fact, WAM!NET is the only network that can guarantee the speed of file transfers.

WAM!NET is efficient, user friendly and secure- a win-win situation for Courier and our customers. Update: Y2K at Courier

Courier Corporation continues to pursue its corporate-wide Year 2000 compliance project, as it focuses on achieving Y2K readiness in information technology, operations, and with third parties such as customers, vendors and service providers.

The corporate Y2K senior management task force is now launching into the final phases of the project- contingency planning and business continuity. Courier has established an organization to manage the Year 2000 rollover event, and to prepare our internal processes to sustain operations before, during and after the turn of the century.

Y2K issues outside the Company involve being sure that all of Courier's business partners will also be Year 2000 ready. To date, our mission critical vendors have been contacted, rated, and visited to insure their turn of the century readiness.

The business continuity organization consists of teams from corporate and each business site who are now faced with the following Y2K contingency and continuity tasks:
1) Identify and assess Y2K risks;
2) Quantify likely worst-case scenarios;
3) Develop workaround plans;
4) Set trigger dates and test plans.

Courier's progress in this arena will be updated in future issues of Fine Print.
The preceding is a Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure under the Year 2000 Information and Readiness Disclosure Act.
