Mechanic/Electrician (12-hour Night Shift, 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM)
Perform mechanical, electrical and building maintenance including troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and building systems. Responsibilities include the repair complex heavy duty or precision equipment on printing and binder equipment, perform temporary fixes to keep equipment running as needed, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and make repairs as required. As a Mechanic/Electrician, you will perform basic electrical maintenance, assist outside contractors and corporate engineering with projects as needed, assist manufacturing departments with the performance of scheduled PMs; and maintain preventive maintenance and work order request records. Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to assisting with the maintenance of inventory records of machine parts, tools and maintenance supplies, performing general maintenance as directed by manager and participating as a Fire and Evacuation Team member. High school diploma or GED, 5 years mechanic/electrical experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with printing & binding equipment, intermediate computer skills, knowledge of basic math skills and a Massachusetts Electrician’s License and Journeyman License Industrial electrical Maintenance are required. Basic math including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication and the ability to measure using ruler and other tools are required. Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule or schematic form and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment problems or failures.

Baler (12-hour Day Shift, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Bale signatures off press & skid according to Bindery expectations. Perform other web press duties as required / assigned by lead operator. Must have the desire to work in a fast paced environment, to move up in the organization and lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Individual must be a quality- minded team player. Will cross train as a Press Assistant. High school diploma or GED required.

Stamper Operator (2nd Shift, 4:00 PM – Midnight)
Set up, operate and maintain stamping equipment in the creation of case bound covers. Review job ticket case size, material type and color, foil color, die placement and ISBN number. Set up stamper for foils, cover size and dye positioning according to job specifications and that all necessary materials are ready for production. Ensure correct foil is used on job. Correctly use ISO designated rulers and dividers to check die positions. Operate stampers to achieve or exceed established production and quality standards. Review cases for position, pinholes and overall quality approximately every 300 covers during run. Re-hit covers periodically through run to ensure that position hasn’t changed. Perform preventive maintenance on stampers according to established PM schedule. Previous experience operating bindery equipment is necessary. Must have excellent math skills with the ability to read and use a ruler to measure.

Baler/Skidder (1st Shift, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM; 2nd Shift, 4:00 PM – Midnight; 3rd Shift, 12:00 Midnight - 8:00 AM)
Feed bundles to gathering equipment, skidding packages of printed material or individual books at end of binder lines and other Bindery duties as required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and have the desire to work in a fast paced environment and to move up in the organization. High school diploma or GED required.

General Worker ( 2nd Shift, 4:00 PM – Midnight; 3rd Shift, 12:00 Midnight - 8:00 AM)
Perform packing, pocket filling, handwork and other bindery duties as required. High school diploma or GED required.

Trimmer Operator (2nd Shift, 4:00 PM – Midnight)
Set up, operate and maintain trimming equipment for the production of soft cover books and book blocks for casebound books. Review job ticket for trim size, head trim, and margins. To be able to set up trimmer and necessary attachments. Set up counter stacker for proper delivery to the packing line. During the run review product for proper trim, scuffing approximately every 500 books. Communicate special packing instructions to the packing crew and lead the crew’s work activities before, during and after the run - keeping the crew productive at all times. Perform preventive maintenance according to established PM schedules. Perform daily cleaning, oiling and greasing of equipment and cleaning of general work area. High school diploma or GED along with basic computer skills, previous experience operating bindery equipment and previous experience leading the work activities of other employees is required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and the ability to use a ruler is necessary, along, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems. While performing the essential functions of the job the employee is required to stand for long periods of time. Required to lift up to 40-50 lbs. on an infrequent basis.

Gatherer Operator (1st Shift, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Directs the pocket-filling crew and sets-up, operates and maintains gathering equipment to collate signatures for binding. Review job ticket for number of signatures, sequence of signatures, inserts, catalogue cards and page count; ensure all appropriate materials are available to run the job. Set up gatherer pockets to signature size, and engage pocket clutch, turn on vacuum and jog machine. Troubleshoot and adjust pocket jams; troubleshoot and repair minor equipment breakdowns. Perform preventive maintenance on gathering equipment according to schedule. High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of bindery equipment is a plus.

Casemaker Operator (2nd Shift, 4:00 PM – 12:00 Midnight; 3rd Shift, 12:00 Midnight - 8:00 AM)
Setup, operate and maintain case-making equipment for the production of cases for case bound books. Perform scheduled PM’s as required. Practice all job, department and company safety and ISO 9002 quality procedures. High school diploma or GED and basic math skills including the ability to read and use a ruler, ability to troubleshoot problems, proven mechanical skills, and ability to lift 50 pounds are required. Previous experience with operating bindery equipment is necessary. Basic P.C. skills are helpful.

Casing-in Operator (2nd Shift, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM)
Major responsibilities include set up, operation and preventive maintenance of casing-in line according to job specifications, production and quality requirements. Direct crew to feed machine and pack books in line. Solid measurement and machine set-up skills are required. Experience running bindery equipment is preferred, but solid manufacturing equipment knowledge will be considered.

Planner
Must have 3-5 years experience as a CSR or Planner in book manufacturing, prefer four color printing knowledge and knowledge of a variety of binding styles. Experience with outsourcing preferred. Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and computer skills. Salaried position. Relocation assistance available.

Quality Facilitator
Responsible for the successful maintenance and future development of the plant’s ISO 9001:2008 initiatives. Management representative during the ISO re-certification process. Lead and direct internal audit team. Lead employee orientations related to quality. Manages division quality data and reports monthly to management staff. Supervises a staff of nine including sample inspectors. Trouble shoots and leads initiatives to improve product quality and processes. Previous printing background a plus. Requirements include bachelor’s degree in business or comparable work experience; 3-5 years as an ISO coordinator; prior supervisory experience; excellent interpersonal and troubleshooting skills; proficient in Microsoft office programs including Approach databases.

Quality Assistant
Provides administrative support to the quality department through maintaining the quality data system and quality manual. Generates daily, monthly, and quarterly reports related to quality performance within the operation. Functions as lead auditor during ISO audits and internal audits. Requirements include proficiency in Word applications; previous experience with quality/ISO procedures in an industrial environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

National Accounts Manager
The National Accounts Manager is responsible for selling books and related materials by contacting established customers and developing new prospects. The National Accounts Manager will manage large accounts, including retail store chains and develop new business accounts in all markets. A successful candidate will establish long-term relationships with retailers and/or specialty chains and manage non-bookstore markets. Responsibilities include: generate sales volume equal to or higher than budgeted target; prospect for, contact, develop strategy and sell to potential clients through in person sales presentations to meet/exceed revenue targets. Development of new business opportunities as well as business plans for new initiatives. Identify potential sales targets. Prepare and deliver proposals to prospective new customers and effectively manage all the accompanying follow-up steps necessary to secure sales. Represents Dover at trade shows. Represents Dover to potential and existing customers with respect to promotion, sales and service of their product line. Manages large, retain store chain accounts, national distributors, specialty distributors and major accounts by communicating with them to share catalogs, new product information and review sales figures. Also presents ideas to increase their sales through promotional opportunities. Analyze sales data to develop effective sales presentations to identify new markets and ensure new sales; Work with the VP, Sales in the development of revenue forecasts and budgets. Provide ongoing data to assist in sales projections and forecasting. Qualified candidates will have: a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration preferred and considerable knowledge of Dover’s product line. This position requires knowledge of the organization’s services, and marketing strategy. A minimum of 5 years of selling experience within the Publishing Industry; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to utilize a time management system to plan and organize appointments and tasks.
