Digital Print Comes to Kendallville
Courier Kendallville, the venue of choice for four-color book manufacturing, is investing approximately $13 million to add complete end-to-end digital production capability to its existing offset operation. The heart of the new production line will be a high-volume HP T410 Color Inkjet Web Press, Courier’s fourth HP digital press and its largest to date. Through this initiative, customers who already rely on Courier Kendallville for outstanding quality in four-color offset will gain access to offset-quality digital production for shorter runs right in the same facility. They’ll also gain a full set of complementary capabilities including content management, seamless customization and a direct-ship option from a convenient geographic hub.

Developed with today’s digitally savvy students in mind, REA integrates a book with a suite of online and mobile tools to help students personalize their test preparation and make the most of their study time. REA’s test prep books provide students a targeted review of the material they’ll be expected to know on test day, presented with proven tips and strategies for answering every question type. The online REA Study Center provides corresponding chapter quizzes, tests, and full-length practice exams, while pinpointing strengths and weaknesses, helping raise scores by showing students exactly where they need to focus their study. REA’s AP Flashcard app helps students customize their study and practice where they need it the most. And since the flashcards are accessible online or on any smartphone, students can practice any time they have a free moment.

Courier Beta Tests the HP Indigo 10000
Installation is complete and beta-testing is underway for a new HP Indigo 10000 digital press at Courier Digital Solutions in North Chelmsford, MA. The 10000 is latest digital press in the HP Indigo family – the industry-standard for offset-quality digital printing. It features a significantly larger format (29.5 x 20.9 inches) that makes the press suitable for printing covers, case covers and jackets for books of all sizes as well as other non-book products. “This is the most productive sheetfed digital press ever built, but it’s the print quality that is really exciting,” says Steve Franzino, Vice President of Technology. “HP Indigo printed products are of the highest quality. They match or even exceed offset, allowing them to be used interchangeably.
